Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill

Reading List

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself..."

Read a newspaper or listen to the news today and you're certain to hear of some major economic failure or calamity.

Regardless of where you live in the world there is more than enough news, that if you let it influence your thinking, will lead you to the idea that we're in for a lot of doom and gloom.

In many ways it's not any different than it was in the 1930's when America and the world was feeling the worst effects of the Great Depression. In fact, I'll bet you could probably switch out a lot of the big headlines of today with those of yesteryear and they'd probably fit.

When Franklin Delano Roosevelt came to office as President of the U.S. during that time, his inaugural address included some of the most famous words of all time, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

He goes on to say some words that aren't as famous as his quote, but have application in all our struggles, "nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance."

According to Ask Yahoo! he was essentially saying "if we can't shake our pessimistic economic outlook, it will be tough to turn things around."

The whole theme for Roosevelt's quote was given to him by his presidential advisor of the time, a writer and reporter named Napoleon Hill.

It wasn't long after this that Hill wrote the block buster that is credited with helping more people become millionaires than any other book - Think and Grow Rich. From Truett Cathy, Founder and Chairman of Chick-fil-A, to cookie king Wally "Famous" Amos, Think and Grow Rich continues to influence those who seek massive success. And it was from this original blueprint that we created the highly acclaimed TGR Seminar.

Turn CNN (Constantly Negative News) off and get turned on to Napoleon's idea that what the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve.

Don't sweat the small stuff...

A friend sent this through to me, thought it was rather an interesting perspective on life...

===============================================================

Now, THIS is really fascinating - it's rather dazzling to see it presented this way.

I certainly thought this was enlightening. Beyond our sun It's a big universe.

Antares is the 15th brightest star in the sky.

It is more than 1000 light years away.

Now TRY to wrap your mind around this.........

This is a Hubble Telescope Ultra Deep Field Infrared View of countless

'ENTIRE' Galaxies Billions of Light-Years Away.

Below is a close up of one of the darkest regions of the photo above.

Humbling, isn't it?

Now How Big Are You?

And how big are the things that upset you today?

Keep life in perspective...

and don't sweat the small stuff!

Tech's newest golden boy founded addictive social networking site Facebook in February 2004 from his Harvard dorm room. Left school for Silicon Valley later that year; scored initial $500,000 investment from PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel. Venture firms soon swooned, among them Accel Partners and Greylock Partners. Today Facebook boasts 66 million active users. Estimated annual sales: $150 million. Expanding beyond being a college-only message system and photo album;

Problems with privacy: installed "News Feed" in 2006; program automatically alerted users' friends to changes they made to their profiles. Outcry over privacy concerns led company to backpedal; Zuckerberg issued apology. Similar controversy ensued after release of Facebook Beacon late last year; program automatically alerted friends of activities on selected outside sites, including
eBay and Fandango. Microsoft bought 1.6% stake for $240 million last October; deal led many to suggest the company is worth $15 billion. Some analysts—and even a few Facebook investors—suggest the company's value is far lower.

Napoleon Hill Talks About the Secret

Napoleon Hill - How To Get Rich Via The Law Of Attraction

Napoleon Hill-What the mind can conceive, believe & achieve.

Napoleon Hill talks about his meeting with Andrew Carnegie

Be a Lake...

The old Master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and then to drink it. "How awful does it taste?" the Master asked. "Awful," spat the apprentice.

The Master chuckled and then asked the young man to take another handful of salt and put it in the lake. The two walked in silence to the nearby lake and when the aprentice swirled his handful of salt into the lake, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake."

As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the Master asked, "How does it taste?" "Good!" remarked the apprentice. "Do you taste the salt?" asked the Master. "No" said the young man.

The Master sat beside this troubled young man, took his hands, and said, "The PAIN of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains the same, exactly the same. But the amount we taste of the 'PAIN' depends on the container we put it into. So when you are in PAIN, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things.....Stop being a glass. Become a lake!"

Never Give Up!

One day I decided to quit...

I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...

I wanted to quit my life.

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"

His answer surprised me...

"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water.

The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.

But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.

And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.

"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo see.
I would not quit." He said.

"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.
Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.

I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."

He said to me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots"

"I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you."

"Don't compare yourself to others." He said. "The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful."

"Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high"
"How high should I rise" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise" He asked in return.

"As high as it can" I questioned.

"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and bring back this story.

Never Give Up!
